Justin Curran hails from Belfast, N. Ireland. He is a Country-Folk-Blues singer / songwriter. Over the years Curran has played in various acts such as Out of the Blue, The Beautiful Losers, Diggby, The Rich Happy Rice Fields, The Plus 4, JC & The Loony Tunes Band and for the past few years he has worked as a solo musician touring the Channel Islands, the U.K., Europe and Ireland. The highlight of these various bands was in 2016 when Curran and his Loony Tunes Band headlined the Island Stage at The Jersey Folklore Festival playing alongside kings of Britpop – The Charlatans; and legends The Levellers. “Curran enlightens the crowd on the stage with Britpop-esque stompers with Batman themed guitar hooks, punchy bass lines, and crashing drums ….. enlightening the crowd onto their feet and dancing in a wild frenzy…. there a definite Neil Young and Crazy Horse feel to this Country-Rocking set” wrote musical journalist Gavin Tate.

In 2012 Curran wrote and recorded his debut solo album ‘The Lonely Stroll’ which he toured as a solo musician around the U.K. and Ireland. Following the break-up of JC & The Loony Tunes Band Curran immediately started working towards his second solo album. Following a series of traumatic events in his personal life he went to the studio in 2018 and started writing and recording his second studio album. Originally this was to be a very raw album with Curran, his vocals, guitar and harmonica. Upon listening to the initial studio recordings Curran and his producer decided to build upon each song adding soaring electric guitars, cellos, bass, accordion. The album entitled ‘The Light Shines Through The Darkness’ is due for release in early 2020.
