Looking for cool things to do this month?

While quiet and picturesque on the outside, Jersey knows how to entertain it's guests on the inside with shows, concerts, plays and workshops that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Below is a list of things to do in Jersey this July.

The Samares Musical Soirée

July 20, 8pm

Hosted by the Brooke Hospital for Animals, The Samares Manor will be lit up with the sounds of entertainment by local artists, raising money to improve the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules in some of the poorest communities in the world.

July 4, 4:45pm to midnight

Location: West Park, St Aubin's Bay

Sand Racing includes Junior cars, sand buggies and racing buggies with drivers from the ages of 14 to 70. One of the most popular events, Sand Racing at West Park is free for spectators to watch these dare-devils wizzing around the bay.

Location: Jersey Arts Centre

Hosted at the Jersey Arts Centre, Yury Toroptsov, Jersey Contemporary Photographer in Residence 2014, will create a friendly environment in which you can gain the confidence and skills needed to put together a personal photography project. Enrollment is £80 for non-members and £68 for members.

Mode: House Party Every Sunday in the Little Drift

July 6, 10pm to midnight

Looking for the best house music in town? Look no further. Come to hear a rotation of Djs; Warren Le Sueur, Simon Gasston, Nick Le Bon and other surprise guests playing everything from deep house to old school.

Politically Incorrect – A Channel Islands Music Council Tour

July 14, 8pm

Location: Island Hall, Alderney

John Lehrer's songs and attitude are still very much alive since they were orginally written over 50 years ago. Come enjoy pianist, vocalist and all-round entertaining Peter Gill in an excellent show, reliving the song-writers favourites such as: “Poisoning Pigeons in the Park”, “The Masochism Tango”, “I Hold Your Hand in Mine” and more. Admission is £17 for non-members and £14.95 for members.

Filter Coffee: Urban Grooves

July 18, 8pm

Filter Coffee is an Indian Folk-Electronic collaborative project made up of Swarupa Ananth and Shriram Sampath. Back by popular demand, they play a unique mix of Indian Classical/Folk, instruments and voices with electronic grooves. Tickets are £17 for non-members and £14.95 for members.

Car races, art workshops, dance parties, comedy shows and grooving to cool music are just 5 things that you could be loving this July. Check out Part II of the 5 Stars for Jersey Entertaiment series because the Island has many amazing activities that will leave you wanting more.
